What Else Do I Do?

Outside of my "day job", I am currently a member of the Board of Directors of the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies. Prior to this, I was on the Board of Directors of the Anxiety and Depression Association of America for six years and am now a member of their Leadership Council. I am also a Founding Member of the New York City Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Association and was the Founding Leader of the Cognitive Therapy Special Interest Group of the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies.

I like to write. I've written a bunch of articles and book chapters, published my first book (for therapists) in April 2016 (Treatment Plans and Interventions for Obsessive Compulsive Disorder), my second book (for patients) in January 2018 (The 10-Step Depression Relief Workbook: A Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Approach), and am now working on a third book (for therapists) on Panic Disorder and Agoraphobia (Advances in Psychotherapy: Evidence Based Practice). I also frequently give presentations and workshops on the treatment of anxiety and stress disorders and depression, etc.

Finally, I do a lot of work with the media, as part of my "mission" is to educate the public on the latest findings from the world of clinical psychology, using a simple, non-sensationalized approach. As such, I have been featured as an expert on various television (e.g., CNN American Morning, CBS Eye on New York, ABC Good Morning America NOW, MSNBC The Dylan Ratigan Show, Fox News, etc.) and radio (e.g., News Talk 650 CKOM, National Public Radio affiliate station, WFUV 90.7, National Public Radio affiliate station, WNYC 93.9 , WCBS Newsradio 1010 WINS, WCBS Newsradio 880, Radio France Internationale, etc.) shows, as well as in print (e.g., The New York Times, Newsday, Toronto Star, USA Today, Forbes, BBC News Magazine, USA WEEKEND Magazine, etc.) and on the web (e.g., WebMD, Fox News, MSNBC, HealthDay, MSN, CNN, ABC News, Financial Times of London, Reader's Digest.com, etc.)
