Despite all of the advances in the mental health field, too many people continue to suffer unnecessarily with psychological disorders. So, I'm here to spread the word about Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and other evidence-based psychological treatments (meaning they have been rigorously tested and that decades of research shows they are reliable and effective treatments)! In other words, CBT 'works' for things like depression, anxiety, stress, insomnia, and many, many other problems! If you are struggling, I urge you to educate yourself about CBT and other evidence-based treatments (including medications)! No matter how long you have been suffering or what other treatments you have tried, please keep trying.
Please remember: it is not all in your head! Please commit to facing your symptoms head-on and moving in the direction of what you care about, even in the presence of obstacles. If that type of commitment seems too big, please commit just to today. Or this hour. Or this minute. Or even just this second. Use any and all resources available to you. Don't be afraid to ask for help. And don't give up. Ever. Psychological disorders are definitely real and are way more common than most people think - and they are also highly treatable! I wish you all the best on your journey to get better.
