Hello...
Welcome to my website! My name is Dr. Simon Rego. I am a
Licensed
Clinical Psychologist, Board Certified in Cognitive Behavioral
Psychology by the
American Board of Professional Psychology,
Certified in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy by the
Canadian Association of Cognitive and Behavioural Therapies, a Fellow of the American Academy of Cognitive and Behavioral Psychology,
and a Diplomate and Fellow of the
Academy of Cognitive Therapy. I am also on the
Board of Directors of the Anxiety Disorders Association of America
and the Editor of the
Trauma Psychology Newsletter,
a membership publication
of the
Division of Trauma Psychology
(Division 56), of the American Psychological Association. Click
here
for more information on the Division of
Trauma Psychology.
My expertise is in the assessment and treatment of
anxiety
disorders, such as Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Panic Disorder, Posttraumatic Stress Disorder,
Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Social Anxiety Disorder, and Specific
Phobias. I also treat mood disorders, such as Depression and Bipolar Disorder,
as well as sleep disorders
(e.g., insomnia, nightmares), and all of the body-focused
repetitive disorders (e.g., trichotillomania, compulsive skin picking,
nail biting, etc.).
Goals:
I want this website to be a place where you can
come to learn more about the field of clinical psychology, some of the
more commonly diagnosed mental health disorders, the different types of
therapists that you can turn to for help with your problems, and
the various evidence-based treatments that are available for help with
these disorders (along with summaries of the latest research findings on
treatments). I will also provide you with book recommendations and other
resources (e.g., links, videos, conferences, web links) that you might find
helpful. And of course, you'll also be able to find out more
about who I am and what I've been up to!
I hope you find this site useful! If there is something you believe I
could add (or edit!), please do not hesitate to
contact me!
Best wishes,
Dr. Simon A. Rego
